Summer forever
Three women from three generations, a lot of passion and even more craftsmanship - all of this makes up the new accessories label Marionas Barcelona. Mariona (grandma and retired gallery owner), Claudia (daughter-in-law and renowned stylist) and Maria (granddaughter and aspiring designer of a future children's collection) decided one evening in the kitchen at home to design their own sandals for next summer. They should be as Mediterranean as they are modern, made ethically and with high quality craftsmanship. They quickly ended up with the typical Mallorcan “Tela de llengües”. Exactly, these are the woven fabrics that every visitor has seen on cushion covers or sofas somewhere on the island and always thought: I absolutely have to have them! They look at least as beautiful on the foot, and even better because they have a larger surface area, they come into their own on the trapezoidal bags from Marionas. Drei Frauen aus drei Generationen, viel Herzblut und noch mehr Handwerk – das alles macht das neue Accessoire-Label Marionas Barcelona aus. Mariona (Oma und pensionierte Galeristin), Claudia (Schwiegertochter und renommierte Stylistin) und Maria (Enkelin und angehende Designerin einer bestimmt kommenden Kinderkollektion) entschieden eines Abends in der heimischen Küche, für den nächsten Sommer eigene Sandalen zu entwerfen. Sie sollten so mediterran wie modern sein, ethisch korrekt und handwerklich hochwertig gefertigt sein. Schnell landeten sie bei den typisch mallorquinischen “Tela de llengües”. Genau, das sind die gewebten Stoffe, die jeder Besucher schon mal irgendwo auf der Insel auf Kissenbezügen oder Sofas gesehen hat und dabei jedes Mal dachte: Die muss ich unbedingt haben! Am Fuß machen sie sich mindestens genauso schön, und noch besser, weil großflächiger, kommen sie auf den trapezförmigen Taschen von Marionas zur Geltung.
